On initialisation of lists: impact on migration from EclipseLink to ObjectDB

I would like to draw the attention of those assessing migration from EclipseLink ORM to ObjectDB to a significant difference in the initialization of persistent lists, namely that EclipseLink injects a List implementation into the List field to be initialise it during EntityManager.persist(). So in EclipseLink the following works: public class HasListOfBlocks { .. #1 2011-06-01 18:39 I would like to draw the attention of those assessing migration from EclipseLink ORM to ObjectDB to a significant ...

Online backup problem

Hi, We are trying to create a servlet that performs database online backup. Unfortunately, even though no exception is thrown, backup files aren't created. Post-compile enhancement fails when static Log4j 2.5 based logger used in Entity

I doubt this is an ObjectDB-enhancer problem, I am however reporting it in case anybody else encounters the problem too. It is mostly also not a concern for my own web app, because in most cases a non-static logging variable can be used in an @Entity.     ObjectDB 2.6.3_04     Apache Log4j2 - 2.5     Mac OS X     jdk1.7.0_51 or jdk1.8.0_60     NetBeans 8.1Beta #1 2016-02-15 01:07 I doubt this is an ObjectDB-enhancer problem, I am however reporting it in case anybody else encounters the pro ...

Is it possible to remove parent/child entities without refresh?

We have a big object tree in our project. If I use the entityManage.remove method a entityManager.refresh is necessary in order to have an updated object tree in memory. But entityManager.refresh is too slow for our project. Do you know a possibilty to remove parent/child entities without entityManager.refresh after the entityManager.remove operation? I have searched for a solution with the following unit test (See testRemoveVariant2()). But my approach works correctly. Do you have an idea? #1 2015-01-13 07:41 We have a big entity object tree in our project. If I use the entityManager.remove(childEntity) method to remove ...

High memory consumption even after close() of EntityManagerFactory

Hello, we still have memory usage problems. When debugging, we have now observed a case in which the execution of multiple queries increasingly byte array were generated (about 1.5 GB) which from GC could not be released. Not even after the EntityManagerFactory closed. We created a small test with which you can observe similar behavior. The huge memory usage only occurs if we execute the query (line 56 to 61). If we remove this query, all is well. The memory is only released after we re-run a query (on a different database). #1 2015-09-18 09:55 Hello, we still have memory usage problems. Connecting to a remote objectdb server

I am trying to configure my application in a client-server objectdb setup via tcp/ip. So I first made sure that the remote objectdb server is running using telnet from my local.  $ telnet db.mydomain.com 6136 (worked fine, is able to connect...) Weird behaviour with enhanced classes and embedded entities

Hi, I've found some weird behaviour in my project (www.tinymediamanager.org): Sometimes some entries of my ArrayLists with embedded entities are missing. I've hunted the problem down to an enhanced/proxied list in my entity which contains embedded entities and some .add(obj) are simply failing. Here is a small sscce which reproduces the issue: #1 2014-07-30 11:27 Hi, I've found some weird behaviour in my project (www.tinymediamanager.org): Sometimes some entries ...

JPQL keyword in entity - what to do?

Hi, I have a problem with entity that is using one of JPQL keywords as one of the fields. It's a 'type' field. DB Doctor sets type to "unknown" for new fields

Hi, we are using ObjectDB 2.5.4_04 on Linux. We added two new Boolean fields to a persistable type and run DB Doctor on the exiting DB file in order to update the schema. The fields are added to the schema as expected, however their type is set to unknown - we were expecting Boolean. The attached DB file is what was produced by DB Doctor after adding the emergency and broadcast fields. If you run in DB Explorer #1 2014-05-29 03:04 Hi, we are using ObjectDB 2.5.4_04 on Linux.
