ODB should auto-restart if it detects it's necessary

Hi! I find very tricky the need to restart ObjectDB server after schema modifications in a distributed environment. Moreover, not doing it does sometimes trigger ugly errors, which mean application downtime. It might be very useful to have an additional feature (that could be enabled/disabled in objectdb.config) that each time ObjectDB detects a schema change that requires restart, it should automatically restart itself. This way we save a lot of headaches from our dev. ops. Currently we have to manually do: ... Configure ObjectDB in spring context

I have a application that initializes with spring, now I'd like to change my data access tier to ObjectDB (from Hibernate : HSQL), but I couldn't find any useful information on it. My goal is to configure entire ObjectDB (optionally objectdb.conf too) in springs context.xml file so that I'd be able to inject EntityManagerFactory to my beans. Could you help me on this? ... 11:34 I have a application that initializes with spring, now I'd like to change my data ... <schema > ... </schema > <server > ... </server > <users > ... ...

Entity factory - best practices

Suppose I run a website that handles services such as user registration, user login checks, etc. I have all the credentials stored in an ObjectDB. Currently, each time user sends a request, I initiate a db connection by creating entity manager factory from db on disk, get the entity manager, modify stuff, close the connections. I wonder if it is better to have an overall db manager created on server init, then provide the shared instance over all requests, instead of creating a new one every time. ... if it is better to have an overall db manager created on server init, then provide the shared instance over all requests, instead of ... one EntityManagerFactory per database during the application lifecycle, as demonstrated in the Guest Book web application ...

Web Framework Recommendation for leveraging JPA + ObjectDB

Hello dear ObjectDB Community ! First of all let me tell You: I am glad that I have revisited ObjectDB just recently; because with its newly added JPA compliance and affordability, it seems like a natural match to me. I have the following understanding: If I persist standardly against JPA/JDO, I can switch Persistence Engines as I see fit later on !
