Performance tuning, best practices

we have a system where we serve from a host process around 200 clients connected via webSockets (Jetty). The core process is running on a dedicated Windows 2012 server with 16 GByte RAM and 8 processor cores.  What is strange for us is that max 20% of the cpu resources are used and the IO subsystem is at maximum 30% of activity under heavy load but database queries are let's say not at the speed we would expect. First query takes 4+ minutes to complete

Hi, we are evaluating ObjectDB 2.5.1_04 in embedded mode hoping to replace SQLite in our application. We observed that in our case it takes on average more than 4 minutes to complete the first SELECT query that we run on the DB which contains about 320,000 records of a single type of object. SQLite in comparison responds within few seconds on average with the same number of records. We hope to receive your recommendation on how to improve this result with this post.   Test System ... Modifying something with Explorer -> app JPQL with Enum doesn't work anymore

Hi! Scenario: Copy attached DB into localhost ObjectDB server (I'm running 2.5.1_03). Open attached project JavaEE Maven with NetBeans (7.4 beta in my case). Start ObjectDB on localhost as server. NegativeArraySizeException on commiting a transaction

Hi, we started to get a java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException from ObjectDB upon changing an object in the DB and committing the transaction. I tried to repair the DB file with Database Doctor, but the same error is happening also on the fixed DB file. Btw. during fixing the DB file an Internal error was thrown (details here: http://www.objectdb.com/database/issue/285 ), but the fixing went on and created a new file. ... are the sizes of strings in that object and what character set is used? Insertion Speed Rate and Batch Load

1. I got about 10K inserts / second, is it normal? I would expect more than that, like close to 100K/second. I can definitely do 80K inserts/seconds on Oracle with batch insert on table with one primary key. 2. Is batch update/insert operation supported?
