Error during closing an entity manager

Hello, can you explain the the following exception? Caused by: com.objectdb.o._PersistenceException: Failed to read the value of field field com.btc.ep.architecture.bl.internal.dmos.types.NormalizedAccessPathImpl.accessPathRoot using reflection at com.objectdb.o._PersistenceException.b(_PersistenceException.java:45) ~[na:na] at com.objectdb.o.JPE.g(JPE.java:145) ~[na:na] at com.objectdb.o.ERR.f(ERR.java:56) ~[na:na] at com.objectdb.o.OBC.onObjectDBError(OBC.java:1560) ~[na:na] at com.objectdb.o.OBM.close(OBM.java:212) ~[na:na] ... Apparently the new build changed the exception from the one in #3 above to an optimistic lock exception. More information ... the optimistic lock exception and we fixed it in our code. From my sight of view this issue is fixed. ...

Shrinking Database Files

These are questions asked in the context of the proposed architecture described in the forum thread titled, "Sample JDO Architecture for Follow Up Questions".   I thought I read something on the ObjectDB website (forum? 1.x manual?), which I cannot find now, that stated that the datastore file never shrinks when large number of objects are deleted and the only way to reclaim that space would be with Database Doctor. Is there a way to reclaim database file space? ... doctor in repair mode (i.e. building a new database file from an existing database). ObjectDB Support ...

ObjectDB Privacy

What privacy does ObjectDB have to offer? I'm watching my firewall and it looks like ObjectDB is pushing my data out? Are there any guarantees that I will retain my privacy when using ObjectDB? ... plans. But you should be able to protect your system (also from real risks) by setting your firewall. ObjectDB ...

Multi-Threading/Distributed-Database Questions...

Greetings ObjectDB team, All below questions assume a very large database (~1,000,000,000 objects): Q1: In what cases would ObjectDB utilize multi-threading ? how about in JOIN operations ? Q2: Is it true that two read-only JPQL queries accessing the same database file actually run simultaneously if placed into two independent threads ? no I/O synchronization bottlenecks ?... multithreading in this previous thread . References from objects in one database to objects in another database are not supported. ...

Memory leak while merging parent with No Cascade annotation with children

Hello support, While tracking memory leak in my application i suspected a memory leak in the merging object db implementation. The test case is the following, just run and watch the "Memory Used" by comparing Cascade.ALL (or Cascade.MERGE ) to nothing. Tested with last version of Object Db ( 2.5.5_05 ) ... ;   //Getting the runtime reference from system Runtime runtime = Runtime. getRuntime ( ...

Explorer doesn't open file

Explorer doesn't open file...see attached error message and odb.  Explorer doesn't cleanly close the connection either (due to error I presume). Many thanks Russ ... type but it was in a super class and I missed it from an earlier re-factoring.  Odd how ObjectDb should persist the value ...

Schema-Update: Rename superclass and remove one subclass

Hello, we renamed a superclass and removed one of the subclass. If we then try to open the Database (with ObjectDB-Explorer) we get a "Failed to generate dynamic type ..."   Small Example: Generate Database ... q = em. createQuery ( "SELECT c FROM " + RenamedSuperClass. class . getName ( ) + ...

InternalException during producer/consumer scenario

Hi, I'm trying to use objectdb in a producer/consumer scenario. Producer threads put message objects into a table while consumer threads remove the objects based on age, priority, etc. There are 2 main motivations for using objectdb for this purpose rather than a queue or similar data structure: 1) The consumer can select the "next" object based on a range of potentially complex criteria. 2) The number of objects produced can be potentially exceed available memory so can be held on disk within the objectdb file. ... Error taking message from ObjectDB queue at ...

Web Framework Recommendation for leveraging JPA + ObjectDB

Hello dear ObjectDB Community ! First of all let me tell You: I am glad that I have revisited ObjectDB just recently; because with its newly added JPA compliance and affordability, it seems like a natural match to me. I have the following understanding: If I persist standardly against JPA/JDO, I can switch Persistence Engines as I see fit later on ! So that I can easily switch to a true OODBMS like ObjectDB, for instance. ... ! Cheers and Tschüss Kai (Tischler) from Northrhine-Westfalia in Germany In heaven there's no ...
