Great product - needs better marketing - more popularity

Hi, ObjectDB! While you have a very nice product, which I recommend everywhere I go, it is quite difficult to explain to my customers what is it and why we should use it, and things like that, because it's quite unknown.  It's a great product, therefore I'm building the 3rd product based on ObjectDB since the beginning of this year, but I think it would be much better if your db was more popular. ... I've been working with ObjectDB almost daily from March 2013, and with relational and object DBMSs for over thirty years. ...

Conflicting modifiers .... (javax.persistence.Id, javax.persistence.ManyToOne)

I have two classes a Container type class and another class that is 'contained' by that class. The contained class, CompoundKeyMapItem, represents an alternate implementation of an object held in a Map, and uses a Compound Primary Key. The contained class therefore uses an @IdClass. This all works fine on Eclipselink. However when I try and run this in ObjectDb I get the following error; ... = "numberOfMapItems" , query = "SELECT COUNT(x) FROM CompoundKeyMapItem x" ) } ) public class ...

Issue deploying J6EE/Eclipse/Glassfish example to TomEE 1.5.1

BIRT plugin: Trouble with Client/Server connection

I am having trouble setting up the birt points.odb sample with a client/server connection. I can connect to points.odb with the explorer.  I added a "Data Source" that works fine with local file.  The connection using the url fails the ping test.  I get (Failed to connect to server localhost:6136) The following is my setup: Dev Versions:     MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench - 12.0.0.me201311281640         -Eclipse platform - 4.3.1.v20130911 ... and whether you can access that database on the server from the Explorer. EntityManager refresh problem

Dear Support, in the following code you can see a EntityManager.refresh() example. The example throws an assertion error with the following statement: Assert.assertEquals("entity 1", simpleEntity1.getFieldA()); In my opinion there should be no assertion error. I have tested the example with several objectdb versions (2.5.4, 2.5.6_06 and 2.5.7). Do you have an explanation for the assertion error? ... in this test is that refresh works by retrieving data from the database and in this test the refreshed object has not been stored yet ...

Post-compilation enhancement vs Automatic Run-time enhancement

We are getting massively different results on field loading between explicit post-compile enhancement and automatic run-time enhancement. Testing exactly where and when the results are different for our demo web app is a very time consuming task, and very difficult, it means testing literally 100s of user interfaces (noting we get different results OUTSIDE THE JAVA SERVER FACES BACKING BEAN LAYER depending on the enhancement stragegy). Can you please explain how this could possibly be so ? ... This may be relevant if you access persistent fields from non entity classes. Could you please provide details on these ...

@ElementCollection Set<Integer> is emptied sometimes

Hi! I'm facing a really strange behavior, which I can't yet reproduce, but it happened 3-4 times already. ObjectDB seems to clear some fields that are @ElementCollection Set<Integer> of my objects. They appear HashSet<Integer> in ObjectDB Explorer. The only common thing I've seen is that this MAY happen when schema changes, even though nothing is changed in that Object's class. Any ideas why would this happen and how could it be avoided? Thanks (version 2.5.3 & Tomee & NetBeans) ... using @ElementCollection on my Set<Integer> fields from User class. I've seen the behavior a couple of times, then I ...
