Safe Settings

Hi, I am trying to set up ObjectDb in a safe way that allows turning the machine off while database transactions are running. I would like to test if things are really safe and if I don't get corrupted database files in any possible case. I found "recovery" and "recording" in the objectdb.conf file. Which one is safer to use? I suppose I should turn on sync="true", right? ... but to support durability (the D in ACID). But a server with electricity backup (UPS) can have a high level of durability even ...

user defined backup target

Dear objectdb Team 1. I could not find a way, to declare the name of the backup-file (while running the database).  The only way I found is to create the folder in which objectdb will copy the database - file:   ... for reply 2. that seems reasonable 1. New to Product & Having An Issue

Greetings ObjectDB Users! I'm new to the product, and I've setup a simple test after reading the tutorial, and I'm running into some issues with queries, specifically querying by primary key.   I have a domain object class Called Department, which has a member of type DomainId.  DomainId has two member fields:  String accountId and String objectId.  The following code shows these two classes.... - at least in embedded mode. I guess you are using client-server mode, and then your equals method is not available on the server. But if you add your DomainId class to the server classpath it ...

Performance and memory usage of queries

Hello, we can't understand why the performance of queries is not the best and the execution requires so much memory. In the implementation of our UnitTests we have used "DELETE FROM Object" to delete the database. That did not work because we often get an "out of memory" exception. What's all done in the execution of queries? Why is so much memory is required, although from the application point of view, no object is loaded. ... locks on pure query activities

analyzing the dynamic behavior we can see from the thread dump that a lot of our threads that are just doing simple queries show locks like these (question is: why there are locks and how could we get rid of that):   log1:   ... <schema > </schema >   <server > <connection port = "6136" max = "100" ... path = "$objectdb/db" /> <embedded-server enabled = "true" /> <!-- <replication ...
