significant performance decrease

we are using objected in embedded mode (on OS X and WINDOWS). The database increased now to around 400000 entities of one class (database file size around 1.5 GByte). The response time of standard queries increased with this database size to an unacceptable rate (several seconds compared to around 30% when the number of entities was just half of the current). We tried to optimize the cache settings, current objectdb.conf is: <!-- ObjectDB Configuration --> <objectdb> ... inactivity-timeout = "0" /> <url-history size = "50" user = "true" password = "true" ... >   <server > <connection port = "6136" max = "100" /> <data ... = "$objectdb/db" /> <!-- <replication url="objectdb://localhost/test.odb;user=admin;password=admin" /> --> ...

Performance tuning, best practices

we have a system where we serve from a host process around 200 clients connected via webSockets (Jetty). The core process is running on a dedicated Windows 2012 server with 16 GByte RAM and 8 processor cores.  What is strange for us is that max 20% of the cpu resources are used and the IO subsystem is at maximum 30% of activity under heavy load but database queries are let's say not at the speed we would expect. We have currently 20.000.000 objects in the database, our configuration settings are: ... <network inactivity-timeout="0" />   <url-history size="50" user="true" password="true" />   <log ... </schema> <server>   <connection port="6136" max="100" />   <data path="$objectdb/db" ...

Compare old and new schema

Hello, I have an old database file with important data. Over time, I have modified some of the entity classes but did not keep track of the changes. Some fields may have been renamed or removed, some classes may have been renamed or changed package. Is there a way for me to check what "format" the entity classes have in the old database file and compare that with the new classes definitions?   Thanks, farid ... with. To do so, I create a new URLClassLoader with a URL pointing to the folder containing my Class hierarchy like so:  ...

Explorer in 2.3

First, the new Explorer in ObjectDB is fantastic! This is exactly what we've needed - an easy way to do ad-hoc JPQL queries and navigate through the results and even make small changes to primitive data and Strings. After playing with it for a while, here is a list of additional features I'd love to have: 1. Export of selected data: a. Simple - Select a range of cells or a column header and copy text to the clipboard or save to a file (csv, html, etc..). (There appear to be copy menu options, but I cannot get them to work.) ... Auto-login of last opened (remote) database puts the full URL into the Database Path field, when it should be only the database path. ...

Replication Issue

Hi, I am trying to use replication for this first time - so most likely I am doing something wrong. I have server on which I run my master DB server java -cp objectdb.jar com.objectdb.Server start -conf objectdbMASTER.conf on the same server I run a java program - which is writing objects every second a database KAKI.odb - here is the code: ... = "0" /> <url-history size = "50" user = "true" password = "true" ... <server > <connection port = "6000" max = "100" /> ... /> <replication url = "objectdb://12.345.678.910:6001/KAKI.odb;user=admin;password=admin" ...
