query.getResultList() throws ClassCastException

I modified the example code to include an index on the Point class like so:     @Index(members={"x","y"}) Then when I run the following query:     TypedQuery<Point> query = em.createQuery("SELECT p FROM Point p where p.x <= :x and p.y >= :y",         Point.class); I get the exception at the end.  I do not get an exception if I: Bug Version: 2.3.0 Priority: Normal Status: Fixed Replies: 3 Type:  Bug ...

[ODB1] Chapter 4 - JDO Metadata

Shows how to define JDO metadata for persistence capable classes. A JDO metadata file is an XML file with a '.jdo' suffix, containing information about one or more persistent classes. All the persistent classes, and only them, have to be declared in a metadata file. The metadata is used first by the JDO Enhancer, and ...

Strange Error with Criteria API and Sorting

We're creating a simple selection (distinct) including an order clause. When watching the created criteria in debugger we get the correct expression: SELECT DISTINCT $1 FROM MyEntity $1 WHERE ((TYPE($1)=class test.MyEntity)) ORDER BY UPPER($1.name) DESC You can see that in the order by there's correctly a "$1" var. Running this (without the type thing before) in the explorer correctly returns the sorted results. However, running this with the criteria API produces this error: Bug Version: 2.4.4 Priority: Normal Status: Closed Replies: 3 Type:  Bug ...

JDO PersistenceManager.getSequence() returns null sometimes

When using JDO without annotations, database sequences are normally defined in the ORM file. Following discussion on the forum I was told that ObjectDB supports sequences if specified in the JDO file. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be supported consistently. It appears to work only in the situation that a new odb file has just been created AND something has been persisted to it. If nothing has yet been persisted, or if the odb file is not newly created, getSequence() returns null. Code to reproduce: Bug Version: 2.4.7 Priority: Normal Status: Fixed Replies: 5 Type:  Bug ...

NullPointer running multiple client against server

Hi, I'm running objectdb in server mode, config as it comes out of the box. In this case the database is being used as a queue with multiple seperate processes, each with multiple threads, writing messages. The message is split into a lightweight metadata message to allow fast searching and a more heavy weight data message. The put methods are shown below. The message is made up of an id, insert-time, priority and the payload is a large string. Bug Version: 2.2.7 Priority: Normal Status: Fixed Replies: 2 Type:  Bug ...

Cast exception?

Somehow I am unable to persist an entity class I wrote with manual @Id. I have a small Player class and I wish to store it with user ID as the primary key. So I declared the (only) primary key field as: @Id public int uid; This is how I'm persisting the instance: ... ; // Stuff in objectdb.jar trace ( Activator. class ) ; trace ( ABT. class ) ; ... $$$$$ class com.objectdb.jpa.JpaQuery class com.objectdb.Activator class ...

InternalException using 2.3.7_12

Sorry can't shed any light on this, other than the code where this came out of, worked fine with 2.3.7_02.
