Multithreading Test and Deadlock

I move on to testing the multi threaded part of ObjectDB. From the same code (MyMain.java), I set the thread count from 1 to 4 and not only do I found it's slower overall (each thread only needs to insert 250K entities) but the threads are stuck with a deadlock. All threads share the same EntityManagerFactory but they have their own EntityManager. The stack trace is attached. ... because of higher memory usage (4 x 10,000 x 100 strings x attribute length => many MBs). ObjectDB Support ...

Primary key generation problem after changing entity package

Hi, I changed package name for some of my entities in database. I added info in <schema><package... /></schema> of my configuration file - and the changes have been succesfully made in database. Unfortunately, sequences have been probably lost for changed entity classes. After schema change I keep getting errors : Attempt to reuse an existing primary key value... My primary keys are annotated as shown below : ... database. Regarding #2, the initialValue attribute is indeed used only when a new sequence is created. ...

A bidirectional OneToOne association with a shared primary key

Hi, In Hibernate, it is possible (using Hibernate specific annotations) to define a bidirectional @OneToOne association that has a shared primary key, example: http://fruzenshtein.com/bidirectional-one-to-one-primary-key-association/ ... which (I assume) would not include a mappedBy attribute ? Thanks edit ...

Embedded in JDO metadata not working in objectDB 2.x ?

Hi, I am using JDO access to the database with the persistence defined in package.jdo XML metadata files. In those metadata files I have few persistence-capable classes which had extents in ObjectDB 1 (with an OID for every instance) and all other classes were embedded (so without extent and own OID) in those few peristence-capable ones. Example of JDO metadata: ... Could be that ObjectDB 2 is ignoring the "embedded=true" attribute in the package.jdo XML ? If yes, how to handle this ? 3. ...

Is named-query supported in orm.xml

I prefer to keep custom JPQL named queries in an external file, e.g. orm.xml, rather than in the entity classes, for example: <named-query name= "DataValue.deleteByCapabilityAndCreationtime"> <query>delete from DataValue d where d.capabilityId = :capabilityId and d.creationtime <= :creationtime </query> </named-query> This works fine with e.g. eclipseLink and postgres, but objectDB complains with an error like: ... generator definition (if any) and before listener and attribute definitions. Unlimited JPA Persistable Types

I think it would be revolutionary if it were possible to persist any Java object, not just the standard SQL-based objects. Perhaps introducing an annotation will allow for this, something like @BasicType. The ability to store the state of an entire application would be a new innovative approach to persistence. For example, being able to persist: private Thread thread; Since ObjectDB is a proprietary database, surely this could be introduced by adding some sort of equals() override?
