Database Server

Explains how to run and use the ObjectDB object database Server to manage Java/JPA/JDO databases in client-server mode. Compare old and new schema

Hello, I have an old database file with important data. Over time, I have modified some of the entity classes but did not keep track of the changes. Some fields may have been renamed or removed, some classes may have been renamed or changed package. Is there a way for me to check what "format" the entity classes have in the old database file and compare that with the new classes definitions?   Thanks, farid ... information about the new schema. I have tried to connect to the "old" db without entity classes in the classpath but the ...

High memory consumption even after close() of EntityManagerFactory

Hello, we still have memory usage problems. When debugging, we have now observed a case in which the execution of multiple queries increasingly byte array were generated (about 1.5 GB) which from GC could not be released. Not even after the EntityManagerFactory closed. We created a small test with which you can observe similar behavior. The huge memory usage only occurs if we execute the query (line 56 to 61). If we remove this query, all is well. The memory is only released after we re-run a query (on a different database). #1 2015-09-18 09:55 Hello, we still have memory usage problems. ObjectDb Supports Clustering of Servers?

Hi,     I am new to ObjectDb. we have a scenario where we deploy the same application in more than one linux (Jobss) servers. In this case user request can go to any server depends on the availability of the servers (This is for load balancing ). As of now we are using Oracle + Hibernate + JPA , as Oracle is shared data there was no problem. ... DB it was too fast where as it is taking so much time to connect Linux Object DB. So I though Object DB is faster but now lost ...

Suspected memleak caused by bad state of EntityManager

Our application manages the Entities itself, so we close the EntityManager after every creating and using. We find a slow memleak in our application recently, and by trace of Entity construct and finalize, we found the problem is caused by bad state of EntityManager. After first throwing the InternalException, the EntityManager throws every time when doing merge operation, but it can be closed and retrieved by EntityManagerFactory, and the instances of Entity constructed by ObjectDB can never be released by JVM.There is a chart describes the instances exists in memory. #1 2012-02-03 02:03 Our application manages the Entities itself, so we close the EntityManager after every creating and using. ObjectDB within a resource adapter module and Java EE Connector Architecture

Has anybody managed to use ObjectDB in a resource adapter module in accordance with the Java EE Connector Architecture so that it may be packaged separately from (but used by components of) an EJB Module after the pattern of the classic EAR File structure as illustrated in the Java EE 7 tutorial in Figure 5-1 EAR File Structure ? #1 2016-11-19 11:19 Has anybody managed to use ObjectDB in a resource adapter module in accordance with the Java EE Connector Ar ...

significant performance decrease

we are using objected in embedded mode (on OS X and WINDOWS). The database increased now to around 400000 entities of one class (database file size around 1.5 GByte). The response time of standard queries increased with this database size to an unacceptable rate (several seconds compared to around 30% when the number of entities was just half of the current). We tried to optimize the cache settings, current objectdb.conf is: <!-- ObjectDB Configuration --> <objectdb> #1 2016-03-15 14:57 we are using objected in embedded mode (on OS X and WINDOWS).
