Compare old and new schema

Hello, I have an old database file with important data. Over time, I have modified some of the entity classes but did not keep track of the changes. Some fields may have been renamed or removed, some classes may have been renamed or changed package. Is there a way for me to check what "format" the entity classes have in the old database file and compare that with the new classes definitions?   Thanks, farid #1 2015-02-13 13:10 Hello, I have an old database file with important data. Extended mapping-definitions

The described feature is not available in any object-db I know, but possible with mapping to a relational DB, for example with Hibernate.   By default every entity of the real world (respectively its class) gets mapped to a java class. So cats get mapped to the java class 'Cat', dogs to 'Dog' and so on. In the project for which I'm evaluating objectDB, there 1.) will be hundreds of classes and 2.) not all classes are known at project start (an editor). #1 2013-04-11 17:04 The described feature is not available in any object-db I know, but possible with mapping to a relational DB, for ...

Type xxx is not found (error 301)

The error: Type User is not found (error 301) occurs when I query the db for a type before any instances of that type have been persisted, e.g.: return em.createQuery ("SELECT a FROM User a").getResultList (); What I was expecting was an empty list, not an error. Is there some enhancement that should be done beforehand?  ... happens for example if you use old Glassfish version that contains JPA 1.0. ObjectDB Support ObjectDB ...

Query vs Extent for retrieving data

I'm running into a problem where data that is retrieved via a Query comes out null, but when I retrieve it using an Extent everything is present. We have a very simple class: public class PositionReportManagerBean implements InstanceCallbacks { private int maxReports; private List<PositionReportBean> reports; } I have a test file with 5 instances of PositionReportManagerBean, each with maxReports set to 10 and 5 PositionReportBeans in reports. I can verify with the ObjectDB explorer that all of the data is there. If I call #1 2011-12-13 23:17 I'm running into a problem where data that is retrieved via a Query comes out null, but when I retrieve it us ...
