Embedded Database Replication

As we all know, embedded databases out perform server databases on every occasion. The problem with embedded databases is that theyre difficult to scale. If I were to create an entire enterprise web application within a single jar file using embedded tomcat and embedded objectdb I would run into problems trying to cluster the data. It would be really useful if some kind of new external replicator application was created that can be used by server administrators to ensure replication is optimal and healthy. ... edit delete ThreaT ...

Compare two schemas or odb files

For example, if we make a backup of our database it would be helpful to have the possibility to compare the backup schema (odb file) with the current version in the database and as result we should get the difference between the two schemas. It would also be sufficient, if we can compare object graphs stored in the db with old graphs from backup db. ... edit delete PG PG ...

Support for roles/groups in ObjectDB

ObjectDB should incorporate roles/group in ObjectDB config file? I see no support for this. I would like to place several users under a given group or role, but I see no way of doing this as no such element is present  in the config file. Maybe under the $default, or any particular user, there could be a role/group element which would categorise the user further. This would help in authentication.   Thanks ... edit delete st.clair.clarke ...

New Java 8 (JDK 1.8) Collection Methods

ObjectDB version 2.5.5 (and above) supports Java 8 (JDK 1.8). Tracking changes to collections and maps using some new Java 8 methods is currently not fully supported. The main known issue is that orphan removal does not happen as a result of removing a reference to an object (which becomes an orphan) using the new methods: removeIf(predicate) and remove(key, value). ... edit delete support ...

When using inheritance, you can specify, which ID to use

When storing objects with inheritance, it should be possible to choose, which ID (parent or child class) should be used for new object. For example: public EntityA() {     @Id     long id;     String field1; }   ... edit delete lwalkowski ...
