internal object DB locking in an embedded multi threaded application

Hi, we are using Embeded objectDB 2.4.4_06 in a highly multithreaded concurrent manner and we have noticed a performance problem in our application that seems to be attributed to ObjectDb's internal locking. When profiling our app in JVisualVm we notice a large number of threads are blocked and when doing a threaddump we notice that they are all blocked in the same place: ... programs = "500" /> <extensions drop = "temp, tmp" /> </database >   ...

Strange Error with Criteria API and Sorting

We're creating a simple selection (distinct) including an order clause. When watching the created criteria in debugger we get the correct expression: SELECT DISTINCT $1 FROM MyEntity $1 WHERE ((TYPE($1)=class test.MyEntity)) ORDER BY UPPER($1.name) DESC You can see that in the order by there's correctly a "$1" var. Running this (without the type thing before) in the explorer correctly returns the sorted results. However, running this with the criteria API produces this error: ... ( "objectdb:db/test.tmp;drop" ) ; EntityManager em = emf. ...

javax.persistence.PersistenceException: No Persistence provider for EntityManager named in Karaf 4.0.7 and OSGi DS test

Hello, I've written a small OSGi Declarative Services application to run in Apache Karaf 4.0.7 to persist an entity into an ObjectDB database. I'm working in C/S model and I have both the ObjectDB server and Karaf running on localhost. When I try to persist the entity I'm getting the  javax.persistence.PersistenceException: No Persistence provider for EntityManager named objectdb://localhost:6136/technolink.odb;user=admin;password=admin exception in the Karaf log. ... to the service? Would be nice if one could simply drop the objectdb bundle into the runtime, request a reference to the Factory ...

java.lang.ClassCastException in OSGi runtime when loading data from DB

Hello, I'm trying to use ObjectDB in an OSGi environment (Karaf 4.0.7). I'm now facing ClassCastExceptions on my "entity" classes when I try to read data from the DB. In a very old (2011?) forum entry this problem was already discussed and it appears to be related to classloader problems. My entity is a dedicated bundle. I have one bundle with the database service (doing the actual objectdb actions -> persist, query etc). ... projects for OSGi? I hope I don't have to drop objectdb as I just ordered my first server license... Regards, ...

List of Enum Values in an entity

Hello, I'm new with ObjectDB and just tried out the example in the Eclipse/Glassfish tutorial (http://www.objectdb.com/tutorial/jpa/eclipse/ee). After testing was successful, I extended the Guest class with an ArrayList of Enums: private ArrayList<GuestFlag> flags; The flags are stored into the database without any problem. In the explorer I can see that it is stored as array of Strings. ... ( "objectdb:test.tmp;drop" ) ;   EntityManager em = emf. ...
