Partial Indexing

I have a question about partial indexing. For example, a field of String type ttt, will be distinguished by the first 5 characters, then I can make a index of substr(ttt,1,5) in MySQL. With ObjectDB, how can I write the annotation for this purpose? TIA Institute of Computer Technologies #1 2011-05-22 12:24 I have a question about partial indexing. Multi-Threading/Distributed-Database Questions...

Greetings ObjectDB team, All below questions assume a very large database (~1,000,000,000 objects): Q1: In what cases would ObjectDB utilize multi-threading ? how about in JOIN operations ? Q2: Is it true that two read-only JPQL queries accessing the same database file actually run simultaneously if placed into two independent threads ? no I/O synchronization bottlenecks ? #1 2011-01-02 04:15 Greetings ObjectDB team, All below questions assume a very large database (~1,000,000,000 objects): Q1: ...

ObjectDB Explorer query error: Unexpected query token 'value'

Hi, my entity is named "XXXValue": this has several attributes, one of these is "value". In query tab, if I do "select value from XXXValue", I get the error <Unexpected query token 'value'>. I try  "select XXXValue.value from XXXValue" and the error is the same. Queries on others attributes work fine.  Thanks! #1 2017-04-04 10:00 Hi, my entity is named "XXXValue": this has several attributes, one of these is "value". In query tab, if ...

Failed to create a new file 'target\objectdb\log\archive' (error 112)

Hi, we are using ObjectDB 2.4.6_10 (embedded mode). The pre-registration of a data type (see below) fails because ODB can't create a new file in a non-existing folder hierarchy. The user under which the JVM is executed in which the code below is run does have write permissions on the folder "target\objectdb". The folder "target\objectdb\log" does not exist yet. Do we have to create it beforehand? This issue is affecting our integration tests against ODB and is pretty major for us. Thanks #1 2013-07-02 12:06 Hi, we are using ObjectDB 2.4.6_10 (embedded mode). The pre-registration of a data type (see below) fails ...

How to define database structure and insert some initial objects from scratch

Hi from Spain! We're evaluating ObjectDB and we have some questions: - How can we create the initial database structure of our application? We know objectdb is all about objects and probably not need initial structure like tables, but how can we populate some "tables" with initial data from a script? In SQL world we have scripts like "insert into..." - Can we use main objectdb.jar library as jdbc driver for ETL software like Kettle? How about migrating data from another database system? #1 2012-02-23 19:18 Hi from Spain! We're evaluating ObjectDB and we have some questions: - How can we create the ...
