Difficulty with the BIRT plugin

Hi, am trying to get the BIRT plugin to work. Firstly: connecting to an odb server doesn't seem to work (incompatible versions) - but there isn't any way to find out what version the BIRT plugin is using. Next: connecting directly to a file datasource seems to work, in the sense that I can ping the database, however, there doesn't appear to be any way to create a new Data Set from the Data Explorer, as suggested in the online manual: ... p WHERE p.x BETWEEN :low AND :high" I get the error "Type Point is not found". I checked that the points.odb file ...

Connecting to a remote objectdb server

I am trying to configure my application in a client-server objectdb setup via tcp/ip. So I first made sure that the remote objectdb server is running using telnet from my local.  $ telnet db.mydomain.com 6136 (worked fine, is able to connect...) My db was configured below: <server>   <connection port="6136" max="100" />   <data path="objectdb://db.mydomain.com/db" /> </server> #1 2014-11-06 17:21 I am trying to configure my application in a client-server objectdb setup via tcp/ip. Explorer bug ? Objects seem to be missing from database in Class view, but are present as references

objectdb-2.2.5_08 NetbeansID6.9.1+Glassfish3.01 I suspect the following is an Explorer bug. It is marked knowingly as CRITICAL by me because it makes the ObjectDB system unusable for a real project because it appears to be either database integrity corruption, or it just looks like it, which is just as bad. I attach a running project illustrating the problem, as well as screenshots. Bug Version: Priority: Critical Status: Fixed Replies: 5 Type:  Bug ...

A lot of ENT and SIV instances which are not cleared by GC

Hello. I have a JSF application (Glassfish 4, Java 8, ObjectDB 2.6.0). In some time the heap is getting 95% full with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded.  The first screenshot from VisualVM shows used heap during a 1000 requests stress test. The second shows that after this test there are many com.objectdb.o.ENT and com.objectdb.o.SIV instances. Why isn't it cleaned? I use simple EJB managers containing EntityManagers. On bean's PreDestroy and in servlet's i make entityManager.clear(); ... They throw this exception: Please report this error on ...

Vacuum - Reclaiming Unused Space In Odb

I was curious if you could assist me with a challenge we are having with our objectdb database.  Our odb files are about 50Gb in size and are written to about a million times a day with both adds and updates.  This is creating a lot of unused space in the database that we are wanting to reclaim.  Other database vendors provide a vacuum process to allow dumping a database to a flat file (basically a sql dump) and reload.  Is there a capability in ObjectDb to provide a vacuum?  The online backup feature appears to copy the dead space as well so isn't performing #1 2016-03-02 06:42 I was curious if you could assist me with a challenge we are having with our objectdb database.  Our odb fil ...

JDO PersistenceManager.getSequence() returns null sometimes

When using JDO without annotations, database sequences are normally defined in the ORM file. Following discussion on the forum I was told that ObjectDB supports sequences if specified in the JDO file. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be supported consistently. It appears to work only in the situation that a new odb file has just been created AND something has been persisted to it. If nothing has yet been persisted, or if the odb file is not newly created, getSequence() returns null. Code to reproduce: ... verify that it is being read at run-time by introducing an error such as an invalid sequence strategy): <?xml version = ...
