objectdb.home for client/server

Currently, we do need to manually setup the objectdb.home property eventhough we're working on client/server mode. However, without setting this in our client, he complains about the missing objectdb.conf. Why is this required? Can't the server deliver it? Most of the time we do not even know where our object db home is located at as we might have multiple server instances running on multiple machines so all we do really need to supply should be the server connection url and no objectdb.home..   Alex Bug Version: 2.2.8 Priority: Normal Status: Closed Replies: 1 Type:  Bug ...

How to change properties in urls2.xml ?

Hello, I am using objectdb in an embedded case with network private access to each database. I see it exists a file name "urls2.xml". <url><main>/var/lib/tomcat7/db/myDb.odb;user=admin;password=admin</main><alt>objectdb://127.0.0.1:38059/;user=$code;password=a2e54ea3-d889-41a7-953c-dabc42877742</alt></url> This file is autogenerated by objectdb. And it describes the locals databases url and their port / user / password properties. Bug Version: 1.04 Priority: Normal Status: Closed Replies: 1 Type:  Bug ...

Cannot insert more than about 2^20 objects

Hi I have a DB with 4 entities and a total of 4 index. Once I reach 1048565 total objects in the whole DB, i am unable to insert more object, although i get NO error message nor exceptions. Doctor said Db is fine (see below) I notice that 1048565 objects + 4 entities + 4 ID indexes + 4 other indexes = 1048576 = 2^20 . Is this a coincidence? Entity Version History

ObjectDB manages automatic entity versioning (for optimistic lock purposes). Every entity object modification is reflected by a new version number. Previous values in the entity object that are overridden by new values, however, are discarded. Some applications may benefit from the ability to go back in time and view old versions (and old values) of entity object. Future versions of ObjectDB should support archiving old versions of specific entity classes. Feature Request Version: 1.04 Priority: Normal Status: Active Replies: 2 Type:  Feature Request ...

Add Type level permissions to ObjectDB Server

It would be useful if instead of creating a web service layer on top of a database, I could just set up permissions to entities and entity variables for client connections. This would be beneficial when providing specific raw data where additional business logic is not required. I suppose you could create transient entities for data that does require additional business logic though. Lazy retrieval by access not working correctly

I have a problem loading lazy associations by access/navigation with an @Embedded attribute containing an @ElementCollection which is lazy loaded.  I'm not sure if the same problem exists elsewhere.  Furthermore, if I set a breakpoint in the right spot in debug mode, everything works correctly.  Without the breakpoint, my lazy collection does not get loaded.  Here are code snippets which should reproduce the problem.
