evictAll() behavior

I'm writing a multi-user drawing tool, using objectdb as the central store.  When a user press F5, I want to pick up all the changes from the database.  So, I call evictAll() in the following ways: pmf.getDataStoreCache().evictAll();  // the factory pm.evictAll();                                 // the persistence manager A couple of questions about this: 1. the first evictAll() seems to be clearing the L2 cache -- is this correct 2. the evicts only work when they are done inside a transaction -- is this specified in the JDO spec?... is something with their state and cache, if You need more info please tell me what to check br   ...

Java 6/7 Performance Comparison

Hey, I've been using ObjectDB for a small scale home project to gain some familiarity before proposing it in a commercial project at work. What I've noticed though is that when using objectdb in embedded mode based on the console tutorial, there seems to be a bit of a performance gap running the same code between Java 6 & 7 Tracing it through I can see the bottle neck seems to be at the creation of the entity manager and I was wondering if there are any additional configuration options I may have missed while running under java 7. ... with a profiler (e.g. Java VisualVM) and provide profiling info? ObjectDB 2.x is working without any activation code

Hi, I downloaded the objectDB from the http://www.objectdb.com/object/db/database/download and then added the objectdb.jar in my classpath. I used the default objectdb.conf file present in the objectdb.jar file and it is working without any activation code.. Is it is bug in objectdb or it works without actionvation code also. I am saving some information into the some.odb file and reading the informatin without any problem. What exactly is the activation code for ? Thanks & regards, ... to run the Activator again. First query takes 4+ minutes to complete

Hi, we are evaluating ObjectDB 2.5.1_04 in embedded mode hoping to replace SQLite in our application. We observed that in our case it takes on average more than 4 minutes to complete the first SELECT query that we run on the DB which contains about 320,000 records of a single type of object. SQLite in comparison responds within few seconds on average with the same number of records. We hope to receive your recommendation on how to improve this result with this post.   Test System ... /> <logger name = "*" level = "info" /> </general >   <database > ...
