ways to recover from DB curruption

Hi, I have a database file which was mistakenly opened by a different version of my entities model and is now not usable any more. When I try to open this file using explorer or even running the Doctor on it I get this exception: #1 2012-08-24 04:29 Hi, I have a database file which was mistakenly opened by a different version of my entities model and is ...

Stalling on "run File" in Netbeans when using -javaagent:lib/objectdb.jar

This is not a question to ObjectDB support, it is a discussion item for ObjectDB users who use Netbeans IDE. I am encountering the following problem when using enhancement with Netbeans IDE 7.1. To enable enhancement I use the following in the Project Properties dialog Run section under VM Options: -javaagent:lib/objectdb.jar where there is a lib folder under the main project folder. This works fine for a Netbeans Web Application (that runs in Glassfish as web application container). #1 2012-03-15 06:51 This is not a question to ObjectDB support, it is a discussion item for ObjectDB users who use Netbeans IDE. ...

Working with a cleared cache

I'm working on trying to improve the performance of our database processing class and I'm attempting to keep the L1 cache within the PersistenceManager cleared in an effort to reduce its memory footprint. The code snippet below is part of a Callable task that is run repeatedly with a given list of commands. When I run the code as written I start getting the stack traces that are listed.  However, if I comment out the calls to makeTransactionalAll() and evictAll() everything works. #1 2011-08-18 15:42 I'm working on trying to improve the performance of our database processing class and I'm attempting to k ...

Database(*.odb) file size on disk

Hello, we have questions about the file size of ObjectDB database on disk. Can you tell us something about how the deleting of entities affects the size of *.odb files on disk? -Will the released memory always used by new entities? -Will be the database file automatically reduced?   We have created a small test, in which we create and delete entities. It looks like that the released memory are reused but the the file not resized. The database is at the end empty again, but larger than the initial size. #1 2016-07-15 10:06 Hello, we have questions about the file size of ObjectDB database on disk. A few questions on object database design

I've been trying to model a database that stores data in an MMORPG. With ObjectDB, a lot of things are easier to perform. Intuitively, I created an entity class called player and stored everything about the player as embeddable classes. However, my colleague questions about this structure, since we would be looking at persisting data from the server every minute or two per player. He has stability issues with the ObjectDB if we are accessing the same table all the time. #1 2014-06-18 11:33 I've been trying to model a database that stores data in an MMORPG.
