Vs. EHCache

Hi, I realize this is kind of like an apples vs. oranges comparison, but I would be interested if you have any performance information vs. something like ehcache with a persistent store. I'm currently evaluating for a simple schema to persist only 1 or 2 types of entities (but possibly 10k-100k instances) with simple index based queries which imagine both products could probably solve.... such information. But if you don't need transactions, lock management, durability and recovery, advanced queries, etc.  - maybe the ...

Bulk Delete and Update - best practice?

The attached test creates 1000 large objects and then attempts to delete them all in one go using a DELETE statement. I'm trying to run with -Xmx512m but the test runs out of memory during the delete. The attachment also contains an update test which has similar memory problems. I'm running both tests with the default objectdb.conf. In general is an UPDATE/DELETE statement the most efficient way to update/remove a large number of objects? #1 2011-11-20 12:23 The attached test creates 1000 large objects and then attempts to delete them all in one go using a DELETE statem ...

Understanding Database max-threads objectdb.conf Settings Option

These are questions asked in the context of the proposed architecture described in the forum thread titled, "Sample JDO Architecture for Follow Up Questions".   In the objectdb.conf file (attached to forum thread mentioned above), I set Database max-threads.  In the documentation, it was not completely clear to me if this setting controlled how many internal threads ObjectDB uses, or if ObjectDB is doing some sort of queue/locking whose depth is determined by this setting (and entries are per thread request). #1 2016-07-25 16:04 These are questions asked in the context of the proposed architecture described in the forum thread titled, "Samp ...
