Compile time enhancement using build.xml of a Netbeans web application

Does anybody have a complete, working example of the adaptations required in the build.xml of a Netbeans web application project to specify ObjectDB compile time enhancement, for both single file and whole project compilation ? The ObjectDB 2.3 manual gives the following tip: ... Compile on Save (CoS) Update: I haven't managed to figure out how to apply the ObjectDB enhancer with NetBeans ...

Queries are slow on a large database

Hi, I have a 12GB database with 787603 entries. It is much larger than usual and there are performances issues. I am doing small queries and they take much longer than I expect, i.e.: Get the total number of entries Get 25 consecutive entries (i.e. 0-25) Get one specific entry On average each query needs 4 to 5 minutes to return a result. I have been adviced to use indexes but they are already used through the JDO Metadata file. For instance I use this class: ... later. However there is one thing I haven't managed to figure out: how to get the total number of object in a database ...

Problem with log file in an embedded db with netbeans platform application

Hello, I'm starting a new desktop application built with netbeans platform 7 and objectdb/JPA as embedded db (version 2.3). Sorting problem

Hi, I was rewriting our DAO to support pagging in large dataset and I think I have found a problem with sorting. I send you a test case - sorry for using the same project as previous, but it was faster to write this test case. As usual, you can load data with DataLoader and then check problem with QueryData. There is a simple query with "order by" sentence: #1 2011-02-13 00:04 Hi, I was rewriting our DAO to support pagging in large dataset and I think I have found a problem with s ...

Efficient query on EmbeddedId

Hi! I have an entity class with an @EmbeddedId (field1 int and field2 int). Based on the manual, I understand that making a query just on entity.id.field1 is efficient. Of course, making a query containing the whole EmbeddedId is the ideal case, and I use it, but I need more use cases. #1 2014-07-25 16:29 Hi! I have an entity class with an @EmbeddedId (field1 int and field2 int). Based on the manual, I unders ...

Database File Encryption

ObjectDB supports encryption of client-server communication over the network using SSL. Encryption of data in database files is less commonly used, since it slows the database, and when necessary, external encryption is possible (e.g. at the operating system level). Still, this might be useful for some applications. Feature Request Version: 1.04 Priority: Normal Status: Active Replies: 2 Type:  Feature Request ...

Optimization Question

One of our uses for your ObjectDB software is in maintaining the current state of a large number of data objects called tracks. These tracks change very frequently over time (every 10-15 seconds is not unreasonable), but they are also very large complex data structures so it's extremely difficult to identify exactly what fields have changed from one update to the next. Currently the following sequence executes when a track update comes in: - If it’s a new track simply add it to the database. #1 2010-06-16 15:41 One of our uses for your ObjectDB software is in maintaining the current state of a large number of data objects cal ...
