Server closes if large query runs out of memory

We are using ObjectDB in production, and have found what we thing to be a serious problem:  the objectdb server can run out of memory and stop if a query deals with too many objects. This isn't the behaviour we expected for a product that we want to use to deliver 24/7 high-volume data collection. ObjectDB surely has some idea of the sizes of objects that it persists and retrieves, and so should be able to fail safely if it finds too many objects being retrieved to fit into memory. There must be some alternative to crashing! #1 2014-08-06 00:27 We are using ObjectDB in production, and have found what we thing to be a serious problem:  the objectdb ser ...

Hi There I am using ObjectDB 2.6.3. I get the following Exception when I try to read my entities with a query where I have set to use LAZY initalization. It fails when it tries to set a 1:n member (e.g. a Modell has several Artikels) . When I remove the LAZY hint on the query execution it works. Any hints why this can happen? Field not persisted in abstract class with two level of nesting

Basically each application does a sorted query ( qqq = em.createQuery("SELECT bk FROM OBN bk ORDER BY bk.time ASC", OBN); ) 2/ after a little while - some of the applications throws this error message: #1 2015-02-11 03:52 Hi, I came across an error - but i have not been able to create a simple reproducible case - the error do ...

Queries are slow on a large database

Hi, I have a 12GB database with 787603 entries. It is much larger than usual and there are performances issues. I am doing small queries and they take much longer than I expect, i.e.: Get the total number of entries Get 25 consecutive entries (i.e. 0-25) Get one specific entry On average each query needs 4 to 5 minutes to return a result. I have been adviced to use indexes but they are already used through the JDO Metadata file. For instance I use this class: ... later. However there is one thing I haven't managed to figure out: how to get the total number of object in a database ...
