An excerpt from the website of a 3rd party vendor which tries to support JPA 2.0:   "The primary difference between JPA 1.0 and JPA 2.0 implementations is how data is fetched: the JPA 1.0 implementation creates a JPQL query string for fetching while the JPA 2.0 implementation uses Criteria API.   Tested JPA 2.0 providers #1 2012-02-23 13:27 An excerpt from the website of a 3rd party vendor which tries to support JPA 2.0:   "The prim ...

Is it possible to commit only specific elements?

Hello, As stated above, I would like to know if it is possible to commit only specific elements, or at least update a single table, disregarding the other entities loaded in the persistency context? I have a complex hierarchy of intertwined objects. Currently I am clearing my persistency context, retrieving only the needed ones, creating new ones (which I want to commit), detaching the ones I've previously retrieved and finally committing. My context is big data and performance is an issue.      #1 2015-07-24 11:13 Hello, As stated above, I would like to know if it is possible to commit only specific elements, or at le ...

JPA CriteriaQuery -- Iterate Expression<List<Object>>

Hi, I am new to  JPA and in particular the CriteriaQuery API. I have a simple CriteriaQuery where I pattern match a simple search String against field entires in a Person entity... i.e. the searchString is always decorated with %searchString%.  The Person object can contain many Record objects. I would like to update my query below to include a similar 'like' pattern match for each applicable field (String) of each element of the List of Records (see pseudo code).  #1 2014-06-25 13:17 Hi, I am new to  JPA and in particular the CriteriaQuery API.
