Retrieving Metamodel without connection

Hello! I use Spring Data JPA. It uses the Metamodel to create repository beans. This triggers a connection to the ObjectDB server. It happens on every start of the Context. If it fails the application isn't available at all. I had the situations multiple times that my database server took longer to boot after a power outage than the tomcat machine. This leads to an unusable application until i restart tomcat. #1 2012-08-15 16:29 Hello! I use Spring Data JPA. It uses the Metamodel to create repository beans. This triggers a conn ...

Cascading persistence through an inverse field

Hi! I was playing with cascading persistence with @ManyToMany and inverse @ManyToMany fields, and I noticed that I can only get cascading persistence in one direction. If the "owner" of the relationship is persistent, then objects that are added to the relationship are automatically made persistent. However, I can not get this to work the other way around. I would also like the relationship owner to be persisted if a persisted object is added on the owner side. I have included a minimal example: #1 2017-10-08 15:50 Hi! I was playing with cascading persistence with @ManyToMany and inverse @ManyToMany fields, a ...

Is it possible to commit only specific elements?

Hello, As stated above, I would like to know if it is possible to commit only specific elements, or at least update a single table, disregarding the other entities loaded in the persistency context? I have a complex hierarchy of intertwined objects. Currently I am clearing my persistency context, retrieving only the needed ones, creating new ones (which I want to commit), detaching the ones I've previously retrieved and finally committing. My context is big data and performance is an issue.      #1 2015-07-24 11:13 Hello, As stated above, I would like to know if it is possible to commit only specific elements, or at le ...
