Updating existing persistence entries

I have stored some instances of MyObject via em.persist(myObjectInstance); I can fetch them and bind them to a kind of property editor in my app (it simply calls the setters to reflect gui editing actions). When I try to persist a object later on, I get an error like com.objectdb.o.UserException: Attempt to reuse an existing primary key value which makes sense to me but I'm missing a em.update() method. #1 2012-12-07 19:29 I have stored some instances of MyObject via em.persist(myObjectInstance); I can fetch them and bind them ...

On ensuring ID available after persist

This reports on a possible solution to a common problem: I was trialling ObjectDB on an existing, functioning, large JavaEE/JPA web application, which until now had used EclipseLink+MySQL and then Oracle+MySQL. On trying it out on ObjectDB I hit a problem with my very extensive entity wiring code, which relies on an "external" entity object having a non-null id after it has been passed to EntityManager.persist, thus: #1 2011-05-31 00:39 This reports on a possible solution to a common problem: I was trialling ObjectDB on an existing, functio ...

Should I use ObjectDB and JDO?

My application is not meeting required performance because JavaDB appears to be my bottleneck.  I require a faster DB.  Surveying the Internet lead me to believe that ObjectDB might be just what I am looking for (to achieve MUCH faster database access).  But, I have a few concerns.   #1 2016-07-09 15:19 My application is not meeting required performance because JavaDB appears to be my bottleneck.  I require a ...

Suspected memory leak

Hi, We are running soak testing with Object DB and it is showing signs of memory leak: used memory is growing overtime until Object DB JVM fails with OutOfMemoryException. Object DB is running in a separate JVM. All the config is attached. We are continuing to investigate this and will create memory dump next time this happens. In the meantime, could you please check if there is anything wrong with our configuration? Kind regards, Natalia. #1 2012-01-22 21:46 Hi, We are running soak testing with Object DB and it is showing signs of memory leak: used memory is gro ...

Weird behaviour with enhanced classes and embedded entities

Hi, I've found some weird behaviour in my project (www.tinymediamanager.org): Sometimes some entries of my ArrayLists with embedded entities are missing. I've hunted the problem down to an enhanced/proxied list in my entity which contains embedded entities and some .add(obj) are simply failing. Here is a small sscce which reproduces the issue: #1 2014-07-30 11:27 Hi, I've found some weird behaviour in my project (www.tinymediamanager.org): Sometimes some entries ...
