Listing large number of complicated objects with paging.

Hi, For last few hours I was working on a problem with bad performance and memory problems with such a simple query: select prod from Product prod order by prod.id ASC Right now I have 55541 'Product' (attached to this post) entities in database and I'm trying to speed listing them with paging. The problem is, that running code that looks like this: ... now it's 384MB. I was trying to build wrapper object ProductTO that contains only fields that I need in listing and the use ... Sort of very large objects - out of memory

The attached test is failing with an out of memory exception when running with -Xmx512m It performs the following actions: 1) Create 5 persist threads which create and persist a large object in a loop 100 times each 2) Create 5 get threads which read 100 objects each in a loop based on object creation time and priority The message size should be around 1mb so I think there should be around 11mb of "live" data in play at any time. The objectdb cache settings are low in the config - database section is below for reference. ... Object Relations Error after Schema Change

Hi we have a problem with relations in OBjectDB 2.4.6, the problem occured after we changed relations in few clases. Specificaly we deleted relation pointing to one class and created new relation to third class. If we restart both ObjectDB and Jboss everything works fine for a short period. Attached is a ObjectDB error message. Kind regards. ... ObjectDB Support ObjectDB - Fast Object Database for Java (JPA/JDO) ... Cascading makeTransient

Hi! We have a memory leak in our app because of ObjectDBs __odbTracker fields. The situation is that we read the objects from the DB (many and large objects of class A) and then keep in the application cache only some embedded parts of those objects (let's call them class B). This application cache should work independently on the DB as if it contained transient objects. ... com.objectdb.o.EMT, which then holds a reference to the object A and its __odbTracker of type com.objectdb.o.ENT. As a result ... 2.6.2 in order to prevent garbage collecting of the owner object as long as the embedded object is in use, as a fix to issue #248 (so ...

A few questions on object database design

I've been trying to model a database that stores data in an MMORPG. With ObjectDB, a lot of things are easier to perform. Intuitively, I created an entity class called player and stored everything about the player as embeddable classes. However, my colleague questions about this structure, since we would be looking at persisting data from the server every minute or two per player. He has stability issues with the ObjectDB if we are accessing the same table all the time.... of data separately. On the other hand, if the entity object becomes too big and it includes a lot of data that is not always needed, ... ObjectDB Support ObjectDB - Fast Object Database for Java (JPA/JDO) ...

Query for objects persisted within the same transaction

I have a question concerning reading uncommited entities with query, within active transaction. For example, I read data from file. Each line contains value of one of entity's attributes but those values are not unique, so it's possible to have a multiple instances of the same entity. To eliminate duplicates, after reading every line I first check using a query, if an entity with that attribute value already exists. If no - I create one and persist it.... calling persist on an object more than once

results in an error (613) when the transaction is commited: [ObjectDB 2.2.4] javax.persistence.RollbackException Failed to commit transaction: Attempt to reuse an existing primary key value (common.model.UserSession:13) (error 613) at com.objectdb.jpa.EMImpl.commit(EMImpl.java:271) at javax.jdo.Transaction$commit.call(Unknown Source)   I submit that there are a number of problems with this: a) the error message is not helpful ... message (ie: 'you called persist more than once on object xxxx'), and b) to throw the exception at the second persist, rather ...
