Java 6/7 Performance Comparison

Hey, I've been using ObjectDB for a small scale home project to gain some familiarity before proposing it in a commercial project at work. What I've noticed though is that when using objectdb in embedded mode based on the console tutorial, there seems to be a bit of a performance gap running the same code between Java 6 & 7 Tracing it through I can see the bottle neck seems to be at the creation of the entity manager and I was wondering if there are any additional configuration options I may have missed while running under java 7. #1 2014-03-06 14:31 Hey, I've been using ObjectDB for a small scale home project to gain some familiarity before proposin ...

EntityManager JPA or JDO impl and different behavior

Hi, I have an issue with the EntityManager. My persistance XML looks like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <persistence version="2.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd"> ... and I assumed that if the EMF is coming from the jpa package the EM would too, but may have been wrong. That still ...

ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException at com.objectdb.o.ALS.c(ALS.java:89)

Hi all, I have created a packet grabber using JNetPcap. It creates a scala actor (java thread) for every packet grabbed which connect to an OpenDB database to add or update relevant entry's. Everything works fine until packets arrive with a time difference in the order of microseconds. Every scala actor opens a connection to the database, does what it needs to do, and then closes the connection. Something like: #1 2011-05-11 08:24 Hi all, I have created a packet grabber using JNetPcap. It creates a scala actor (java thread) for every ...

ORDER BY problem, when String starts with language specific character

Dear all, I have a problem with ORDER BY clause. I have a simple query: select u from User u order by u.name When the name starts with "normal/english" character, records are ordered correctly. But when it starts with language specific character like 'Č', these records are placed after records with normal charaters. So records with 'Č' are after 'Z', but this is not correct, because 'Č' is between 'C' and 'D'. ... by the current version, but this should work: package com. objectdb . forum ;   import java. text . *; ...
