How do I achieve a Deep Fetch using JOIN FETCH?

I have an Entity type which is contains a collection of Embeddable objects, which in turn themselves contain a collection of Embeddable objects: @Embeddable class A { String val; }; @Embeddable class B { List<A> aList; }; @Entity class C { @Id long id; List<B> bList; };   Usually I'm content to have the B's and A's be lazily loaded, but I have a circumstance where I need to be able to work with the whole C object, with all its parts, as a detached object. ... I get an error along the lines of: Invalid fetch path: bList.aList for type C (#element is expected) Admittedly, this ...

JPA CriteriaQuery -- Iterate Expression<List<Object>>

Hi, I am new to  JPA and in particular the CriteriaQuery API. I have a simple CriteriaQuery where I pattern match a simple search String against field entires in a Person entity... i.e. the searchString is always decorated with %searchString%.  The Person object can contain many Record objects. I would like to update my query below to include a similar 'like' pattern match for each applicable field (String) of each element of the List of Records (see pseudo code).  ... any record. FIELD LIKE searchString )   Path<Integer> status = root. get ( "status" ) ; ...

Strange Error with Criteria API and Sorting

We're creating a simple selection (distinct) including an order clause. When watching the created criteria in debugger we get the correct expression: SELECT DISTINCT $1 FROM MyEntity $1 WHERE ((TYPE($1)=class test.MyEntity)) ORDER BY UPPER($1.name) DESC You can see that in the order by there's correctly a "$1" var. Running this (without the type thing before) in the explorer correctly returns the sorted results. However, running this with the criteria API produces this error: ... You can fix this specific query by using Path (which is not a separate variable) instead of Join : //final ... ?> otherJoin = root.join("other"); final Path<Object> otherJoin = root. get ( "other" ) ; ...

Running in embedded mode, configuration specifies "<recovery enabled ="false"... />".  Still, tablename.odb$ files get created, and if still present after an abrupt stop, the application will not restart properly.   What do we need to do to not utilize recovery files (not have orphan tablename.odb$ files)? ... location of the objectdb.jar file. Server vs embedded mode in multi-instance scenario

We are creating a web app that will have multiple different clients, each on their own EC2 instance(s). The clients do not need to share any data, so each could have its own ObjectDB. Clients have a user base of about 2,000 to 60,000 users that could possibly be using their application at any given time (100k absolute maximum). We will probably have multiple instances per client for availability concerns as well as auto scale during peak usage, at least for the benefit of our web application if not for objectdb.... max = "100" /> <data path = "$objectdb/db" /> <embedded-server enabled ... connection url should be "objectdb://host:port/" with no path. host could be localhost . In order to have a port ...
