Data portability

Hi,   I've never used an OODB, I'm looking for a starting point but a recurrent concern is the Data Portability one. More clear: what options / strategies do I have to export / move my data to another  tool, if there is a need to? #1 2010-12-01 18:29 Hi, I've never used an OODB, I'm looking for a starting point but a recurrent concern is the Data Portabi ...

Performance Questions...

Greetings ObjectDB team, All below questions assume a very large database (~1,000,000,000 objects) Q1: Two queries with a big overlap between their result sets. If I query the first and hold them in memory somehow, would that speed up the execution of the second query since many of its result objects already created and reside in memory ? Q2: Do I need to manually use strong references to such cached result objects ? or do ObjectDB exploits frequency of querying such objects and keep them in memory longer automatically somehow before GC takes place ? #1 2011-01-01 08:18 Greetings ObjectDB team, The below questions assume a very large database (~1,000,000,000 objects): Q1: If m ...

Full Text Indexing and Query

The ability of ObjectDB to index collections, including collections of strings, can be used for text indexing and search. By splitting the text into words and keeping the words in a List<String> persistent fields, documents that contain specific words can be retrieved easily and efficiently. This ability should be extended in future versions of ObjectDB to complete full text support, as provided by separate tools such as Apache Luncene.
