Embedded Database Replication

As we all know, embedded databases out perform server databases on every occasion. The problem with embedded databases is that theyre difficult to scale. If I were to create an entire enterprise web application within a single jar file using embedded tomcat and embedded objectdb I would run into problems trying to cluster the data. Is there a way to cluster embedded objectdb? Perhaps some kind of external replicator application that can be used by server administrators to ensure replication is optimal and healthy? #1 2015-02-10 18:34 As we all know, embedded databases out perform server databases on every occasion. GlassFish 3.1.2.2/JBoss 7.1.1

Good day, We have few troubles with GlassFish on @remote. When we wants to get entity from remote interface, but in the result we have null in all entity fields. As I see there is a GlassFish problem (http://www.java.net/forum/topic/glassfish/glassfish/cant-return-entity-ejbs-remote-ejb). May be you have some ideas?  When we just try JBoss 7.1.1 nothing works at all. When I get a real world objectdb deployment example?    Thanks.  #1 2012-08-02 07:59 Good day, We have few troubles with GlassFish on @remote. When we wants to get entity from remote interfa ...

ObjectDB stability after power failure

I'm considering using ObjectDB in a system that is going to be running continuously without support instantly available for many years.  How stable is ObjectDB when it comes to power failures and unattended restarts?  Is database integrity maintained during such events?  I have seen database vendors perform 'kick the plug out' demonstrations of how their product will survive power failures.  Is ObjectDB suitably robust that it won't fail in such situations?    #1 2014-05-21 00:39 I'm considering using ObjectDB in a system that is going to be running continuously without support instantly ...

JDO support vs JPA

Hi, I am about to update the JDO metadata in the package.jdo files after moving from ObjectDB 1 to 2. However I found that there is no complete description or guide how the XML metadata should look in version 2. I found only small fragments of attributes in the description of JDO Annotations (to which XML element is the given annotation equivalent). So my questions to this are: 1. Is there some description of XML metadata for ObjectDB ver2 using JDO which I did not find? #1 2014-07-06 15:53 Hi, I am about to update the JDO metadata in the package.jdo files after moving from ObjectDB 1 to 2. Performance problem

Hi, we have a strange performance problem with ObjectDB 2.5.3_01 and JBoss 7.1.1. We have two ObjectDB databases on one ObjectDB server. Production database is running 5-10 times slower than test database. Their size and number of records are almost identical. When running production database in separate test environment its speed is very good. We did a performance analysis on our 2 linux servers one running JBOSS and other running ObjectDB. - CPU utilization of JBOSS server is max 5-10% (per core) #1 2014-01-13 18:57 Hi, we have a strange performance problem with ObjectDB 2.5.3_01 and JBoss 7.1.1. Licensing

Hello! In some older post "support" wrote: "A single server license is for one activation of one machine and is non transferable.". What if one of our servers or laptops needs to get replaced? Do i have to purchase a new server license? I know that there is a site license but we are only two developers. A site license would be 3 times more expensive than two server licenses. #1 2012-08-15 17:04 Hello! creating EntityManager on odb file created on Mac 64bit on Windows 32bit

Hello, I have an odb file created on my Mac OSX 64bit. When I further, in other program, create an EntityManagerFactory and later EntityManager on this file, every thing is working fine. But, when I transfer this program and odb file to Windows XP 32bit it crashes while creating EntityManager. Do you have any idea why does it crash? Thanks, Marcin  #1 2013-04-26 17:48 Hello, I have an odb file created on my Mac OSX 64bit. When I further, in other program, create an E ...

Deadlock problems solved - a suggestion

Thanks to the new logging capability, I have managed to solve all the deadlock problems, as they were a result of Objectdb encountering new classes in multi-threaded code.  I have a suggestion that might be useful for other users - how about an Ant task that, given a database URL, performs the necessary schema changes (including creating the database if necessary), so that a database is already set up with the complete schema before an application runs? #1 2013-05-27 22:55 Thanks to the new logging capability, I have managed to solve all the deadlock problems, as they were a result of ...
