Post-compilation enhancement vs Automatic Run-time enhancement

We are getting massively different results on field loading between explicit post-compile enhancement and automatic run-time enhancement. Testing exactly where and when the results are different for our demo web app is a very time consuming task, and very difficult, it means testing literally 100s of user interfaces (noting we get different results OUTSIDE THE JAVA SERVER FACES BACKING BEAN LAYER depending on the enhancement stragegy). Can you please explain how this could possibly be so ? #1 2014-09-17 22:23 We are getting massively different results on field loading between explicit post-compile enhancement and automat ...

Use temporary files to enable very large transactions

We have transactions in which many objects are created. These objects are no longer needed in the current transaction after creation. Unfortunately, we will receive an OutOfMemory exception because the objects are kept in the first level cache of ObjectDB. In the forum thread http://www.objectdb.com/database/forum/921 on post #4 you wrote, that ObjectDB should support very large transactions in further version. Can you implement it that ObjectDB used temporary files? Bug Version: 1.04 Priority: Critical Status: Fixed Replies: 27 Type:  Bug ...

Attempt to open a non existing file '/tmp/objectdb_xxxx/SortQueryItr_6.mrg'

Hi, I came across an error - but i have not been able to create a simple reproducible case - the error does not happen often and does not happen always -  Let me explain: 1/ I run 5 java applications at the same time on one machine - each application is using an ODB file (each one is using a different one). Basically each application does a sorted query ( qqq = em.createQuery("SELECT bk FROM OBN bk ORDER BY bk.time ASC", OBN); ) 2/ after a little while - some of the applications throws this error message: ... ) ; You can try setting these system properties before accessing ObjectDB in your code or as parameters to the JVM, ...

Blocked by find

I have a container object which wraps an objectdb database. There is a "putIfAbsent(String id, Object obj)" method which is synchronized and attempts to load an object by id using the EntityManager "find" method. If nothing is returned from the db the passed object is persisted to the db. I have 5 threads which use this method. In a run today one of the threads seems to have got stuck somewhere in the find. The thread dump looks like: Bug Version: Priority: High Status: Fixed Replies: 23 Type:  Bug ...
