failure to enforce NOT NULL for java.lang.String

my test cases are indicating that @Basic(optional=false) and @Persistent(nullValue=NullValue.EXCEPTION) are not enforced in 2.3.7_08 or that i have failed to understand how to annotate. example: @Entity public class Request {   public Request() { }   @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.IDENTITY)   private Long id; ... worked well for relationships but not for basic reference types such as String . Build 2.3.7_14 fixes this issue. ...

Compress ODB file with XML content

Harman company requested to reduce ODB size as much as possible after database created and one of unliked solution was to use ZIP/UNZIP after/before use object DB database. Harman would like to ask Object Db team about possible internal methods to reduce/compress object DB data on run-time or after close ODB file. Does exist any compress data solution from ObjectDB side? #1 2016-04-29 12:11 Harman company requested to reduce ODB size as much as possible after database created and one of unliked solutio ...

How to track memory leak with ObjectDb.

Hello, I suspect some memory leak in my application. ( turning app into OOM very fast ) In fact, some com.objectdb.o.MST objects are retaining a huge % of my heap space. While watching the dump file ( with Eclipse MAT ), i was not able to inspect carrefully the memory leak issue. That's is very hard to debug because of obfuscated objectdb code. Well, objectdb is closed source, ok so ... but, in production case, how can a developper do his debug job correctly with your obfuscated code ? #1 2014-06-03 21:03 Hello, I suspect some memory leak in my application. TimeSeries and ObjectDB

Hi, I am using ObjectDB for storing TimeSeries (large ones) - when I get new points to add to the TimeSerie entity - I currently have to retrieve the whole timerserie since beginning of time, then add the new points, and then commit the whole timeserie again. I looked at Update queries - but they seem to be handling simple tasks - like multiply one field of the entity by a constant. More generally: 1- is ObjectDB suitable for large time series? 2/ If so - any example would be helpful - on how to organise the data. #1 2015-03-16 12:29 Hi, I am using ObjectDB for storing TimeSeries (large ones) - when I get new points to add to the TimeSer ...

Cascading persistence through an inverse field

Hi! I was playing with cascading persistence with @ManyToMany and inverse @ManyToMany fields, and I noticed that I can only get cascading persistence in one direction. If the "owner" of the relationship is persistent, then objects that are added to the relationship are automatically made persistent. However, I can not get this to work the other way around. I would also like the relationship owner to be persisted if a persisted object is added on the owner side. I have included a minimal example: ... relationship in scenario 2 by setting the collection reference in the new point to the new collection. If cascading still fails then ...
