ODB tries to create log files inside its own jar on Win7

I sent a demo of an app I've been developing on Linux to some Windows 7 users, and they were unable to run it.  The stack traces they sent me indicated that ODB was trying to create its log files inside objectdb.jar, which was inside the executable jar packaged by Eclipse.  Here's the end of the stack trace: #1 2012-04-18 02:47 I sent a demo of an app I've been developing on Linux to some Windows 7 users, and they were unable to run it ...

Connection is closed Caused by: java.io.EOFException

I am getting this exception on a regular basis, after a period of time of repeating the same code execution.  I don't understand why.  I restart the DB server and my code works again for another period of time until same exception is encountered again.  I cannot pin down a pattern e.g. after a certain period of time,  because the time  periods between exceptions are not regular, although frequent.  Any test case  I use will pass most of the time but will fail after an undetermined period. #1 2011-06-18 13:34 I am getting this exception on a regular basis, after a period of time of repeating the same code execution. &nbs ...

Speed of queries that return many objects

Hi, I have a DB of 146MB - with 1_000_000 elements. Loading the contents (objectDB query in java) takes about 10sec. I am using a recent MacBook (SSD blabla - disk I/O speed is about 400MB/sec - according to blackMagicTest app for mac) - so I was expecting the query to take less than one sec (146/400 = 0.35sec.. + some overhead). I was wondering if this kind of speed is "normal", or if this is something I should investigate. Thanks EKK ... Glassfish 4 AbstractMethodError: com.objectdb.jpa.EMF.createEntityManager

Hi! I've been trying to get Glassfish 4 (Java EE 7) work with ObjectDB the whole day. It seems to be an error. The same code (adapted to Java EE 6) works perfect in Glassfish 3.1.2.2. I attached the samples as NetBeans projects, so that you could check easier. 1 for GF3 (6) and 1 for GF4 (7). Thanks! ... if you can give an ETA on this. I have new projects to start.    Thanks, hope it's soon.  ...

Wrong data stored in time only fields

This may be related to the fix for the problem described in this thread: Wrong data stored in date only fields. The object and its date and time fields are the same as in the referenced thread. Except we are using ObjectDB 2.6.4_08, the system time zone is set to EST and both the OS and JVM are using the 2015g time zone data. ... private Date startDateTime ; // Time stamp: start of recording in local time zone private Date startDate ; ...

PersistenceException: Failed to locate field

Hi, have recently been running into this issue when changing the schema: com.objectdb.o._PersistenceException: Failed to locate field in this case, adding a primitive String field to an Entity. pretty sure that in the past schema evolution would not have triggered errors, is this case, a simple new field, shouldn't the policy be to add a null in that field, or other default for that primitive. #1 2017-10-05 03:14 Hi, have recently been running into this issue when changing the schema: com.objectdb.o._PersistenceExcep ...

"where in" query

Is it possible to run a query selecting values that exist in a provided list? e.g. something like: SELECT u FROM User m WHERE u.username IN ('test_user','anotheruser') I've tried various combinations of this including passing the list as a named parameter but without any joy. The only similar examples I can find in the docs involve a join query - but my list isn't in the database - and the MEMBER OF operator doesn't seem to do what I want (although I may be using it incorrectly! ... by using the long form of the query. Might have to start a new topic when I try another upgrade. ...
