Possible issue for default id generator

First all, congratulations to Objectdb team for the excellent work. Possible issue for default id generator when strategy is sequence. Error: Incomplete definition of auto value in field MyTestCase$MyEntity.idgenerator name is missing (error 342) Please see attached file MyTestCase.java lines 35 and 36. I am not an expert but in my opinion there is no default generator but the element generator is optional. Thanks. #1 2012-04-12 20:39 First all, congratulations to Objectdb team for the excellent work. Possible issue for default id generat ...

Missing Data on Retrieval (0, null values)

I try  to export all Objects in an Flatfile-Hiearchy (.csv). But only the first exported Table contains all necessary Data. Most of the others  contains all  Object-Rows', but most Values of the Columns are missing. With a  em.clear() inside the Loop, all tables are exported correctly but the Enity-Keys do not match. I can't get the point - what am i doing wrong?   emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory(dbFile); em = emf.createEntityManager(); ... between the two Resultlists Tested with  Version 2.6.7 and 2.4.5  - same behaviour.     ...

Problem with @OrderBy

When I use @OrderBy and supply multiple order fields I get and error when ObjectDB loads that entity. Example code: @Entity @Table(name="Problems", schema = myDB") public class Defects  implements Serializable { ... ...  @OneToMany(mappedBy="problem") @OrderBy("seqRel, noteSeq") Set<Notes> notes; ... ... } ... order expressions in inverse (mapped by) fields. Version 2.2.2 includes a fix - please try it. Thank you for your ...

large numbers of records

Hi, does anyone have experience with database with more than billion records (ie. more than 1000 million records) in one table. What is the limit of ObjectDB and is the database still fast. We are planing to do an application which handles document records and there metadata. ... ObjectDB supports pure memory database since version 2.6.4. There is no size limit, but it is a new feature, so if ...

Server closes if large query runs out of memory

We are using ObjectDB in production, and have found what we thing to be a serious problem:  the objectdb server can run out of memory and stop if a query deals with too many objects. This isn't the behaviour we expected for a product that we want to use to deliver 24/7 high-volume data collection. ObjectDB surely has some idea of the sizes of objects that it persists and retrieves, and so should be able to fail safely if it finds too many objects being retrieved to fit into memory. There must be some alternative to crashing! #1 2014-08-06 00:27 We are using ObjectDB in production, and have found what we thing to be a serious problem:  the objectdb ser ...

LEFT (OUTER) JOIN problem when mappedBy is defined

Hi all, I want to get objects with their lists, even when the lists are empty. So I've witten this query: "SELECT i FROM Invoice i LEFT OUTER JOIN i.itemList items" But this query never returns invoices without items! Only invoices with items. When I remove mappedBy from @OneToMany annotation, LEFT JOIN works correctly. Is this normal behaviour? Thank you Michael   Sample application ... I've forgotten the version - I've tested with 2.2.7 build 5 and 2.2.7 build 8 ...

"Problem" with cross join

At first, this is my first JPA Projekt - and the code should work with Hibernate and JPA, using the specifc DAOs. Following query string returns no result using ObjectDB - using Hibernate, or EclipseLink this query works fine. select distinct c from CI c, CIstring s where c.name like :SSTR or (c.id = s.ci.id AND s.text like :SSTR) The class CI (Confiugration Item):...private String name;@OneToMany(mappedBy="ci") private List<CIdata> content;... The attached test reproduces the problem - its fails with version 2.0.4 and seems to work well with 2.0.4_01. If you still see ...

like operator (String)

My application is ready to support different JPA implementation - also ObjectDB. But the automated tests show one little difference. Following search statment will be created by one test case: select i from User i where i.status = :status and (UPPER(i.email) like :value) Now we assume that there is a user with following email 'test@mycompany.com' With :value  = "test" ObjectDB will find the example user. The like statment operates like "test%"  ... Thanks for the quick fix. This new version 2.4.7_17 fixes this issue. ...
