Super class' field access fails

.. maybe I was fooled by NetBeans. It is complaining about the missing id field in the base class ... annotation in the base class. Seems NetBeans has a bug here? The project does not contain a persistence unit

How do I fix this error/warning that Netbeans gives me?   ObjectDB itself does not require a persistence unit, but NetBeans produces this warning because a persistence unit is required by JPA ... this NetBeans warning. The warning doesn't seem to go away after placing persistence.xml into META-INF
