How to configure where the ODB is stored?

ODB tries to create log files inside its own jar on Win7

PersistenceException UserException: Failed to validate persistence.xml

. What is the "!" character at the beginning of the path, is it part of your path? Could you try moving your project to a path with no special characters? I don't know if it would solve the exception but it is worth trying. Thank you. But path acts right way. Finally I've got it. I should not use any persistence
