Deadlock problems solved - a suggestion

Thanks to the new logging capability, I have managed to solve all the deadlock problems, as they were a result of Objectdb encountering new classes in multi-threaded code.  I have a suggestion that might be useful for other users - how about an Ant task that, given a database URL, performs the necessary schema changes (including creating the database if necessary), so that a database is already set up with the complete schema before an application runs? #1 2013-05-27 22:55 Thanks to the new logging capability, I have managed to solve all the deadlock problems, as they were a result of ...

Change path for urls2.xml file

I am using ObjectDB embedded and have set my home path in relation to the JAR, but running the program still creates .objectdb/urls2.xml in my system user folder.  Is there a setting to change the creation path of this file?  I assumed it would be in relation to the home path, similar to the db and log files. ... be in relation to the home path, similar to the db and log files. edit ...

@Entity saved in Tomcat session - problem

Hi, I have found a problem, when storing @Entity object in Tomcat session. When starting or stopping Tomcat, I get nasty exception - please check attached log. Strange thing is, that after this exception everything works perfectly fine. The problem appears after using Enhancer. The nasty solution is to create copy of @Entity class as normal POJO and use it to store in session. The problem is, that we need the same logic for temporary users (without storing in DB) and permanent users (stored in database). A separate POJO makes the whole logic quite complicated.... Does run time enhancer due to GlassFish/Payara do anything that would affect loaded compile-time entity classes ?

ObjectDB support wrote elsewhere: ... you do not need the Enhancer agent, since you use build time emhancement, but GlassFish invokes it automatically. coonection pooling

Hi, is it possible to implement a mechanism in object db which redirects a particular user to its database. For example we have an ObjecDB server with 100 databases. On our Jboss server we have a single deployed application with 100 users. Depending on the logged user it will connect to different database when quering the ObjectDB. can we use persistence.xml to define this connection routing or, according to this scheme http://www.objectdb.com/java/jpa/persistence/overview , EntityManagerFactory would be responsible for this operation. #1 2016-11-01 10:09 Hi, is it possible to implement a mechanism in object db which redirects a particular user to its database. ...

String representation of a query

Hi, Is it possible to get a JPQL string having a Query object instance? JpaQuery class doesn't have any method like "getQueryString" or "getDatabaseQuery", maybe it's going to be added in near future? It would be very helpfull to have something similiar to Hibernate etc : findAllBooks.unwrap(org.hibernate.Query.class).getQueryString() I would like to measure time of query execution and log that information with JPQL string and parameters map to find and optimize the most ineffective cases. ...
